“Imagine IF…” NYC

Sleek tech utility. Its luxurious but raw. It doesn’t seek attention, yet it still captivates. It’s about the authenticity of culture that’s in you not on you. The authenticity that drives you toward realizing your purpose and executing on that purpose with focus and discipline against all odds. It’s about the idea of defining yourself on your own terms without the need for validation.

We’re focused on creating authentic investment pieces not throw-away items. Driven by form and function instead of trend and hype. We’re unconcerned with elite fashion ideals and social constructs. It’s a holistic view for a new creative future where we build our own table for equity.

Imagine IF… it was a movement not just a moment

Symbolism:

“Imagine IF…” is the apparel brand under the parent company Infinite Fashions LLC. The infinity symbol logo was created in 2004 with the birth of the parent brand. The sinuous lines collectively signify the future’s infinite possibilities and inevitable twists and turns that occur in life.

The left of the symbol is the inception discovery phase while the inversion on the right symbolizes the upwards trajectory that comes with discipline and focus. A symbol that will inevitably stand on its own as a signature of inspiration, ambition and execution.

Why streetwear?

Streetwear has always been forged by those considered outliers, seeking to define their own culture not what society, the media or social elite prescribe. That definition and representation for the culture by the culture itself is the purest and most authentic.

The Designer:

I began in streetwear as an assistant illustrator and designer helping create looks + styles for music artists such as Da Brat, Biggie, Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony and Kriss Kross for a Chicago Custom Shop called Jay-Boogie during what is now called the golden era of hip-hop. This was before streetwear became as prominent as it is now.

This black owned small business that allowed me, a young black kid from the south side of Chicago, the opportunity to pursue and realize my purpose and potential in design. It showed me how businesses were creating resources and equity by keeping the black dollar circulating in our own communities. It was part of a larger purpose and inspiration for me.

Why Tech & Utility?

Purpose and function.  Tech utility is centered around those key elements. They’re also inspiration and cues that speak to what Imagine IF… is all about - the realization and execution of one’s purpose (everyone has a purpose even IF they have yet to realize what that is). A strong community is built with a true function and purpose or mission. The best visual style exemplification of that to me is tech utility.

Imagine IF…

“It’s about a movement not just moments”

Black wealth and equity is about a movement not just a moment in a silo or vacuum its a holistic effort with tangible results. This brand is about THAT life! Promoting that equity, resources for our community and community partners that are on the ground floor and in the trenches. Providing resources and opportunities to those seeking their true purpose, honing or exploring a specific talent or skill.

Our overreaching goal is to provide and fill the gaps made by the removal of resources in our communities. By defining the function and moving with our purpose we act, inspire and create our own Infinite Future for generations to come. That is how true equity, wealth and power to exact change begin.
